Technical Artist (Contract)

ustwo Games is a 27-person studio in London, best known as the creators of Monument Valley, Assemble With Care and most recently Alba a Wildlife Adventure.

We are a multi-discipline team drawing from a diverse range of experience and creative influences; our aim is to craft interactive entertainment with stand-out production values, heart and broad appeal.

We’re looking for an experienced technical artist to join us on a contract basis to help us create a beautiful and atmospheric world with their excellent knowledge of shader tech, on a currently unannounced mobile title.

#What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting artists to help them achieve stunning visual effects
  • Setting up production art pipelines
  • Working closely with both the art and programming teams to help create workflows to take the game’s visuals from concepts to a production ready level
  • Taking the initiative, experimenting and injecting your own creativity into your work, challenging our assumptions

#Desirable:

  • Experience working with Unity
  • Experience with VFX within Unity (particle effects, smoke, weather, etc)
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as Maya
  • Experience creating shaders, either node-based (e.g. Shadergraph, Amplify) or custom coded
  • Knowledge of creating art pipelines (you will be collaborating with the tech team on this)
  • At least one shipped game title (preferably made with Unity)

#Bonus:

  • Knowledge of 2D art tools such as Photoshop or TexturePacker
  • 3D Animation skills
  • Experience creating unique and high quality shaders that are optimised for mobile platforms
